Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger issued the following statement today:

“It is fitting that Los Angeles County recognizes January 24th as Robert Vargas Day, honoring the extraordinary talent and deep civic pride he brings to communities across our County.

I especially want to share my appreciation for his ‘From the Ashes’ mural at Fair Oaks Burger. His work continues to inspire and heal Eaton Fire survivors, serving as a powerful symbol of our community’s resilience. As Altadena residents and business owners alike travel up and down this thoroughfare, Robert’s mural is a constant reminder that disasters do not define us and to keep persevering. I deeply appreciate his dedication to our residents and am proud to celebrate the lasting impact he has made on our cultural landscape.”
