Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Statement

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Statement

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Statement 768 432 Supervisor Kathryn Barger

This national holiday is to remember the profound contributions Dr. King made to our American way of life.  A role model for those who want to make our world better for the oppressed and marginalized, he was wholeheartedly dedicated to public service and fought with his life to end injustice and bigotry in our society.  As we honor his memory, we should also consider the imperative of his message, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?”
