Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger issued the following statement today:
“Governor Newsom’s signature on SB 1090 is an important step forward for the families of Altadena who have spent nearly two years navigating an uncertain landscape while facing the threat of speculative pressures.
This law gives Eaton Fire survivors greater certainty and a fair opportunity to rebuild their community and ensure that Altadena residents are not displaced in the aftermath of this tragedy. I appreciate Senator Pérez for her leadership and our Governor for recognizing that wildfire recovery must remain centered on the people whose lives were upended.”
