Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger today is announcing the return of the Beach Bus program for the 2026 summer season. Beginning Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, and running through Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026, residents of Palmdale and Lancaster will once again be able to enjoy affordable, direct bus service to Santa Monica Beach.

Buses will operate on Memorial Day, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day.

“Every family in the Antelope Valley deserves a day at the beach, and the Beach Bus makes that possible,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “For just six dollars round trip—or two dollars for seniors and people with disabilities—we’re connecting our communities in Palmdale and Lancaster directly to our cooler coasts. I’m proud to bring this program back for another summer to help ensure that residents from the Antelope Valley can access one of Southern California’s greatest treasures.”

Palmdale riders may board at the Palmdale Transportation Center, located at 39000 Clock Tower Plaza Drive, at the AVTA bus stop zone. The bus departs Palmdale at 9:00 a.m. and arrives at Santa Monica Beach by 10:50 a.m. The return bus departs Santa Monica Beach at 3:00 p.m., with an estimated arrival back in Palmdale at 5:25 p.m.

Lancaster riders may board at Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park, on Walt Troth Drive/City Park Drive. The Lancaster bus departs at 8:30 a.m. and arrives at Santa Monica Beach by 10:50 a.m. The return bus departs Santa Monica Beach at 3:00 p.m., arriving back in Lancaster at approximately 5:40 p.m. Arrival times may vary depending on traffic conditions.

The round-trip fare is $6.00 for all children and adults. Senior citizens age 60 and older and persons with disabilities pay a reduced fare of $2.00 with proper identification. Exact fare is required. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Reservations are strongly encouraged. Riders may book seats at www.LAGoBus.com up to ten days in advance, but no later than 10:00 a.m. the day prior to travel. Riders will receive a confirmation upon booking. For questions, dial (626) 458-3909 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Riders are encouraged to arrive at their bus stop at least ten minutes before departure. Service is subject to change due to weather and road conditions. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing may contact the California Relay Service by dialing 7-1-1.
