Yesterday, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger paid a special visit to the Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California to sign a special beam at the museum’s active construction site.

Supervisor Barger previously donated $1 million in support of the museum’s construction in 2022. The first phase of construction featuring the museum parking garage and building foundation has been completed. The edifice is now entering its second phase of construction featuring the museum building superstructure.

“I’m a proud supporter of the Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California’s mission to promote understanding and appreciation of the Armenian American experience,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “This museum will be a beacon of unity, a hub of cultural preservation, and a big source of community pride. Anchoring it in Glendale holds immense value, not only for the Armenian American community in Los Angeles County, but for the entire region. It’s exciting to see the project continue to progress and evolve.”

Shant Sahakian, Executive Director of the Armenian American Museum, and Berj Karapetian, Chair of the Armenian American Museum, warmly greeted Supervisor Barger and her team, showcasing the museum’s construction progress.

“We were proud to welcome Supervisor Kathryn Barger to the construction site to mark her name on the signature beam,” stated Executive Chairman Berj Karapetian. “We are grateful to the Supervisor and County of Los Angeles for their commitment to the Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California.”
