Effective immediately, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger has ordered all County flags at County facilities to be lowered to half-staff in honor and remembrance of Baldwin Park Police Officer Samuel Riveros, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

“This is a heartbreaking loss for our entire Los Angeles County community,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “Officer Samuel Riveros served with courage and commitment, and his ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten. We honor his life, his service, and extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow officers.”

The flags will remain at half-staff until the conclusion of Officer Riveros’ scheduled funeral service. A follow-up directive will be issued to resume flags to full-staff after the services.
