Supervisor Kathryn Barger announced that the Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved the sale of property to the City of Santa Clarita for a new soccer field near Whites Canyon Road and Sierra Highway.
“We appreciate the mutual effort between the city and the county to provide vital amenities for our residents,” said Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar.
“My office is dedicated to working cooperatively with our cities and communities to provide recreational facilities and programs that improve the quality of life for our residents,” said Supervisor Barger. “The City of Santa Clarita has been a valued partner in that effort and I look forward to working with the city on future projects.”
The parcels are located north of Via Princessa Road and east and west of Whites Canyon Road in the City of Santa Clarita. The City will pay a total of $651,000 for the parcels for construction of the soccer field as well as enhanced aesthetics for the area.
