The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Kathryn Barger to officially name the Hollywood Bowl Artist Pavilion the “Terri and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion,” honoring a transformative $15 million philanthropic gift made by Terri and Jerry Kohl to one of the County’s most beloved landmarks.
“Terri and Jerry Kohl have extended their extraordinary generosity to support one of Los Angeles County’s most iconic performance venues,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “The Kohls’ support makes it possible to preserve and elevate the Hollywood Bowl as a world-class venue while also helping it remain a welcoming public space for all during financially tough times. This pavilion will carry their legacy for generations.”
A centerpiece of Supervisor Barger’s motion is the Terri and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion’s role as a community resource beyond performance nights. The Artists Pavilion, which will open in June 2026, will serve as a free gathering space for community events and meetings, coordinated through the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. This commitment ensures that the new facility benefits local residents year-round, not just on concert nights. It reinforces the Hollywood Bowl’s identity as both a world-class venue and a valued community asset.
In addition to approving the naming, Supervisor Barger’s motion instructs the Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation to coordinate with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, which will cover the cost of appropriate signage and commemorative materials reflecting the new designation.
