Disaster loans can range up to $500,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $100,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property, including personal vehicles.

With the application deadline just two weeks away, Supervisor Barger emphasized the importance of ensuring eligible residents and business owners can access critical support. ““My heart goes out to the residents in Mt. Baldy, Wrightwood, and surrounding communities who lost homes and property,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “The recovery process can be overwhelming, but there are resources available to help you rebuild.  These federal disaster loans offer vital financial assistance for Bridge Fire survivors. I strongly encourage anyone in need to take advantage of this opportunity before it’s too late.”

Ignited on September 8, 2024, the Bridge Fire swept through portions of the Angeles National Forest, burning more than 56,000 acres, destroying 84 structures and damaging 17 more in its wake.

Supervisor Barger reminded residents that even those who are unsure of their eligibility should consider applying. “Applying for a disaster loan does not obligate you to accept the loan, but it ensures you have options available as you navigate the recovery process,” she noted.  “Rebuilding is never easy and it’s a long process. I want my constituents to have access to all recovery resources available.”
