WHAT:
Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Los Angeles County officials will kick off the construction of a new state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot three-story health center located in the heart of North Hollywood this morning.
Visuals will include participants in hard hats and shovels and a “construction kick off” ceremony. Three county departments–Health Services, Mental Health, and Public Health– will provide an integrated care model including medical, mental health, and wellness services for the community once the project is completed in 2026. DETAILS:
Once completed, the North Hollywood Health Center will include examination rooms, phlebotomy stations, a wellness center, a laboratory, outdoor community gardens, and a demonstration kitchen. The project’s budget is currently estimated at $92,975,000, which includes design, construction, consultant services, and miscellaneous expenditures.
The construction site was previously occupied by a single-story building serving as a Department of Public Health clinic. Swinerton Builders will lead this construction project.
