Supervisor Kathryn Barger strongly opposes the placement of Christopher Hubbart, a convicted Sexually Violent Predator, in a rural community of the Antelope Valley. Barger issued the following statement today:

“It is absolutely unacceptable that a dangerous predator like Christopher Hubbart has been placed in the Antelope Valley against the objections of law enforcement and the community. His violent history speaks for itself, and placing him in a remote area with limited law enforcement resources, poor cell service, and insufficient security measures puts residents at unnecessary risk.

I stand with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and local residents in opposing this decision. I will continue fighting for stronger policies that prioritize public safety over flawed bureaucratic decisions that disregard the well-being of our communities.

I urge all concerned residents to remain vigilant and report any issues to law enforcement. Public safety must always come first.”
