$20k Reward Offered In Lancaster Convenience Store Robbery/murder

$20k Reward Offered In Lancaster Convenience Store Robbery/murder 788 443 Supervisor Kathryn Barger

Supervisor Kathryn Barger introduced a motion to offer a $20,000 reward in exchange for information leading detectives to the arrest and/or conviction of those responsible for heinous murder of a Lancaster convenience store cashier on Monday, February 19, 2018.

At 8:30 a.m., two males entered the store at 44400 block of Division Street, produced a handgun and fired multiple times at the cashier, 61 year-old John Ruh, striking him at least once in the upper body.  The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.  Mr. Ruh served in the Marine Corps and is survived by several siblings and his adult son who is currently serving in the armed services.  Supervisor Barger encourages anyone with information about this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.  If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), use your smartphone by downloading the “P3 Tips” Mobile APP on Google play or the Apple App Store or by using the website https://lacrimestoppers.org.
